Emre Belozoglu Officially Appointed as Fenerbache Head Coach

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have officially announced the appointment of Emre Belozoglu as their new head coach, filling the vacancy left by Ismail Kartal's departure last week. The former Turkey international, who earned 101 caps for his country, returns to the club for a fourth stint, having previously served three periods as a player and a brief interim spell in charge in 2021. Belozoglu left Kasimpasa to take the helm at one of the country's flagship clubs.

His managerial debut will be delayed by a few days, however, as Dirk Kuyt remains in charge as interim coach for Wednesday's Champions League clash against Liverpool. Kuyt's side will be looking to bounce back following a 2.1 domestic defeat to Goztepe. The club's leadership is placing immense faith in Belozoglu's deep ties to Fenerbahce, charisma, and ability to restore institutional stability and revive the team's championship aspirations.
