Real Madrid Target Arsenal Defender Riccardo Calafiori Amid Stellar Season

Riding high after a victory over Barcelona in El Clasico, Real Madrid are continuing to work behind the scenes on long-term squad strengthening. According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Los Blancos have stepped up their pursuit of 24-year-old versatile Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, whose profile fits Jose Mourinho's tactical plans, and have made preliminary inquiries with the player's entourage.

However, the Premier League giants consider Calafiori untouchable and fully backed by Mikel Arteta. With his contract running until 2029 at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal are planning to offer him a lucrative extension to fend off Real Madrid's strong interest and secure his long-term future in London.
