Barcelona Eyeing Lisandro Martinez to Strengthen Defense Amid Financial Constraints

Facing defensive injury concerns early in the season, Barcelona have set their sights on 28-year-old Manchester United center-back Lisandro Martinez as a target for the upcoming winter transfer window. Due to ongoing financial limitations, the Catalan club has set a strict budget cap of 30 million euros for the potential acquisition.

The move could hinge on Manchester United's stance and mounting pressure on the player following criticism after his red card against Chelsea. Additionally, United face a contractual dilemma regarding a potential one-year extension option through 2028, which Barcelona hope to exploit, while also keeping an eye on the prospect of securing the Argentine as a free agent down the line.
